Article 6.2.1 of GB 51348-2019 "Civil Building Electrical Design Standard (Description of Provisions)" stipulates as follows: Emergency Power Supply (Emergency Power Supply), referred to as EPS, is a power supply equipment composed of power converter, energy storage device (battery) and transfer switch (electronic or mechanical). When the AC input power is normal, the AC input power is directly output through the transfer switch.

The AC input power simultaneously charges the battery pack through the converter. In case of interruption (such as power interruption, voltage does not meet the power supply requirements), EPS uses the energy storage discharge of the battery pack to pass through the inverter transformation, and automatically switches to the emergency state to supply power to the load through the transfer switch.

How 7. Products Work

When the commercial power supply is normal, the EPS power supply is supplied to the important load by the commercial power supply through the output switching device, and the EPS power supply is charged or floated by the charger at the same time. When the commercial power is cut off or the voltage exceeds the power supply range, the controller starts the inverter, and the output switching device immediately switches the commercial power supply state to the inverter power supply to provide emergency power supply for the load equipment. When the commercial power is restored, the emergency power supply will be restored.

XI. Selection Scheme

1. Lighting EPS power supply unit:

Its rated output power shall not be less than 1.3 times the total capacity of the connected emergency lighting load.

2. Power equipment EPS power supply unit:

1) When the EPS power supply device has multiple motors and all of them are started, the EPS capacity = 1.05 × (the sum of the motor power directly started × the sum of the motor power started by 5 stars and triangle × 3 the motor power value started by variable frequency × 1.1)

2) When the EPS power supply device has multiple motors and they are not started at the same time, the EPS capacity = 1.05 × (the sum of the power of each motor, the power of the single motor with the largest direct starting capacity, X7 stars, the power of the single motor with the largest triangular starting capacity, the power of the single motor with the largest variable frequency starting capacity, the power of the motor with the largest variable frequency starting capacity, x 1.1)

The above motor work must also meet the following conditions:

a) The maximum single motor power for direct start is less than 1/7 of the EPS usable capacity;

B) The maximum power of a single motor for star-delta starting is less than 1/3 of the usable capacity of EPS;

c) The maximum single motor power for variable frequency start is less than 9/10 of the EPS usable capacity;

d) Adjust the capacity of EPS according to the maximum number in the above conditions to meet the working conditions of the motor. At the same time, the starting sequence of the motor shall be the first to start directly, followed by the star-delta starting, and finally the variable frequency starting.
